Alright... I've been unemployed for almost a full year now, and I am not having any luck finding work. I put in all kinds of apps every single week, and never hear back from anyone.

Or then I get a response saying "sorry but you are unqualified for this position", or "we are looking at other people at the moment".

Now I understand some positions out there are going to be that way, but damnit I have been working in the financial industry my entire life. I have worked as a cashier in retail, and a cage cashier and main banker at a casino.... So all in all right at 10 years of work. And the damn people telling me I am unqualified are the financial institutions be they banks, casinos anything....

I dont care what people say but this is definately not fun. I need to start working again, but goodlord it doesnt look like there is light at the end of the tunnel at the moment.

This won't help the job search, but I'd suggest volunteering somewhere and/or starting a hobby. Since you're already doing all you can to search for work, it might help you take your mind off it.

thanks everyone.. Yeah its been tough. One thing I have going for me is my fiance is right here alongside of me keeping me going. It has been tough,and I am still looking. But yeah ive been trying to do some other stuff as well...

things can be tough, but nothing worth doing is going to happen easily... just gotta keep my nose to the grindstone and hope that I can get everything taken care of...
