Call me paranoid, but remember the last time we signed an aging veteran that made his mark in the northeast and had a rep for being a good clubhouse presence?

I love Tino. Have a Tino Cardinals jersey.

Sucks it didn't work out for him here. I was so excited.

I met him outside old Busch after a game. Was a very nice dude. Signed my hat. I was in awe of him.

Nomar, he's just done. He's not got much, if any, good injury free baseball left in him. Now, if the team wanted him to come in and teach the other players how to juice, then sure, sign him up, if that's what they want. Hell, try getting Bret Boone back in camp too!

The difference is we're talking about a utility guy with decent numbers last year as well as experience. Tino was signed as an everyday player who was expected to produce regularly and he sucked.

QFT

Tino wasted $21 million, Nomar would cost $2

I bet Sam wouldn't want the Cards to Sign Beckett or Lester if they ever reach free agency

Exactly. Not nearly the risk if we sign Nomar.

<insert Tino-hating comment here>

I'm a lil drunk and actually exercising some mild restraint.

I'm with Brodie, I'd rather have Flip, but Nomar wouldn't be a bad option at all. Kind of like Larry Walker....without the production and starting job.

I think Nomar is far less likely to come with the attitude baggage that Martinez did.

There's Amy!

I think so too on Nomar. He's a professional hitter and this team could use a PH like that who can also spell 3b and 1b.
